Known as the "Bigdumbhick" (that’s one word) Jeff Wall is a 6’7” 300lb plus (a lot of plus), solo acoustic performer who blends Bluegrass, Blues, Country, and Folk with a unique sense of humor and mesmerizing storytelling. With four albums of original music, and starting work on number five, Jeff is a fearless entertainer who can switch from hilarious toe-tapping grooves to deep, emotional moments in the blink of an eye, all while keeping audiences totally rapt and engaged. Whether it’s a “Squeaky-Clean, Whole-milk, Leave it to Beaver, Baptist-friendly, Grandma Approved” set or a more “Adult-Oriented, Damn The Torpedoes, Full Speed Ahead, We Don’t Need Any Damn Guard Rails or Seat Belts, Did I Just Hear a Siren?” type of show, Jeff is easy to work with and is ready to make your next event unforgettable. (in a good way)
For booking inquiries: Jeff is easy to work with, is mostly house-broken, and has all the necessary instruments and sound equipment needed to perform at your venue or event. Primarily a solo performer, he can quickly assemble a duo, trio, or even a four-o (quartet) should that be what you need. With tons of references and a commitment to making every gig unforgettable, the Bigdumbhick is ready to bring the grooves and the laughter to your next event. He would love the opportunity to come and entertain you and your guests, put a smile on everyone's face, and hopefully be able to continue to chase his lifelong dream of not starving to death.

SHort BIO
A solo acoustic performer with a background in Bluegrass and Roots music, Singer-Songwriter-Storyteller Jeff Wall, aka the Bigdumbhick, lays down a groove so strong that it could break your Grandma’s hip. At 6’7”, and a bit more than 300lbs (a lot more), he is an exceptionally large, and darkly hilarious entertainer, a giant Yeti-like bear of a man who loves naps, dogs, and stealing the occasional unattended picnic basket. Residing in the Winston-Salem, NC area following a 20-year Navy career, he can often be found wandering aimlessly throughout the Southeastern United States with a beat-up Martin guitar spreading joy and laughter and leaving a trail of crumbs everywhere he goes.
“ “We had a great evening, with musician, songwriter, storyteller, and comedian Jeff Wall, also known as the Bigdumbhick, joining us in the studio. It had been a long time since we have laughed that hard. Bigdumbhick is big and talented, his songs are funny, sad, smart and catchy.

MEDIUM Bio
Jeff Wall, known to many as the "Bigdumbhick” (that’s one word)’ has spent his life defying expectations. At 6'7" and weighing in at more than 300 pounds (much more), the self-proclaimed “Yeti of Americana Music” has a personality as large as his stature—and the talent to match.
A native of Lebanon, TN a small town just 30 years east of Nashville, He comes from a long line of musicians, alcoholics, and alcoholic musicians. His great-grandfather played fiddle and banjo, and was acknowledged throughout the county for his mastery at emptying a whiskey bottle.
The family takes a little pride in Great-Grand-Pap being the town drunk, as it means he reached the pinnacle of his chosen profession, but that banjo playing is a little embarrassing.
Fortunately, Jeff hasn’t touched alcohol, or any other recreational substances, for more than 40 years and it’s been at least 30years since he has held a banjo in his hands. His family is very proud of him and wish him continued success for his banjo abstinence.
A 20-year Navy veteran, Jeff has lived all over the country and traveled the world, but it’s North Carolina and the Southeastern United States that he now calls home. Drawing influences from Bluegrass, Country, Blues, Folk, and even a bit of Reggae, Jeff’s music is an eclectic mix of heartfelt storytelling and dark humor (really dark humor). His songs, often both hilarious and deeply moving, resonate best with an older audience that’s seen a thing or two. He is a fearless performer, sucking you in with comedic songs about the injustices of aging (“Erectile Dysfunction Blues”, “Battery Operated Boyfriend” and “Will I Ever Get Laid Again”) and then sucker-punching you with songs that are raw, deep, and moving, (“1968 Lebanon TN”, “I Am Not Here”, “New Wayfaring Strangers”) often causing your jaw and occasionally even a few tears to hit the floor.
A man of many surprises, his live show is a one-of-a-kind experience. He’s a natural performer, usually seen wearing his signature bib-overalls (if he’s wearing anything at all), delivering his songs with an authenticity that is rare these days. This has earned him a dedicated following of tens of fans. What you see is what you get: no pretense, no posturing, no bullshit (Well maybe a little bullshit)—just an incredibly talented, down-to-earth guy who loves to make people laugh, think, and feel.

“From the main stage during a Drive-By Truckers show:
”Earlier I went upstairs and I saw Jeff Wall, he calls himself Bigdumbhick and you know... he’s really big, and he’s undeniably kind of a hick, but there ain’t nothing dumb about that motherf**ker, he’s smarter than I could ever dream of being, and he writes really great songs and he has gotten So. F**king. Good.
I was up there, and I was laughing my ass off, and several times I had tears in my eyes, and I was so blown away and I’m so proud of him.”

BIO - 444 Words
Jeff Wall is the Bigdumbhick, a solo acoustic singer-songwriter-storyteller from the Winston-Salem area of North Carolina. At 6’7” and more than 300lbs (much more) , it is easy to understand the “Big” part. The “Dumb” part is easy too. Look at him, he just looks dumb. Big and Dumb, just the way your Mama always liked them. He looks like Lennie Small with a little tiny guitar in his hands …but he knows who Lennie Small is and you’re probably going to have to go look that up, so maybe he’s not as dumb as he looks. Nobody could be as dumb as he looks,
Originally from Middle Tennessee, he joined the Navy at age 18 in order to see the world and find someone to date that he wasn’t kin to. He spent the next 20 years traveling the world meeting, breaking bread, and playing music with people from just about every imaginable point of the political, religious, and social spectrum. He is not nearly as big of a “Hick” as he might try to lead you to believe.
Upon retiring from the Navy, he settled in North Carolina where he would continue to play music at every possible opportunity. In his mid-50’s, looking at the current health of the music industry, he noticed that over-50, “you-kids-get-the hell-off-of-my-lawn”, AARP/Medicare demographic was being largely ignored and sorely under-represented.
This was his audience. These are people with disposable income. He could make tens of dollars playing his original songs for these people.
… Ok, so maybe he has earned that “Dumb” part of his stagename honestly.
Somehow, for reasons neither his wife nor any other sane person can possibly fathom, it has all seemed to work out. He is an incredibly unique, gifted, and darkly hilarious performer with a right hand that lays down a groove so strong that your grandmother could break a hip to it. His sardonic, self-deprecating use of humor serves as the perfect candy coating to help to make that dark and bitter pill of human existence just a bit easier for us all to swallow. One moment he will have an audience crying with laughter, and then he will unexpectedly sucker-punch them with something extremely raw and personal, and cause eyes to well up with tears - this time for a completely different reason.
He is authentic (whatever the hell that means) This is not a stage persona. This is not an act. What you see is what you get. There's no pretense, no posturing, no bullshit. Well, maybe a little bullshit, but still, he’s real. He is what he is and he ain’t ashamed of it.

His lyrics are clever and his stories are unique... and true. Authenticity is hard to find these days, but I found it yesterday and it was wearing bib overalls.” ”

“fantastic story teller, natural comedian and authentic human being. There’s no guessing what’s on his mind and his original songs will make you laugh, cry and blush at the same time.”
“”I loved his stuff. I laughed my butt off and occasionally was mortified ...he crosses lines and doesn’t care one bit. That’s why he’s so friggin’ authentic.” ”
“With solid storytelling and a fine sense of humor, this man and a guitar will entertain anyone within earshot.”
